Not a city on our list but we wanted to get to a
concentration camp memorial and as the cruise was supposed to end in Nuremburg
(actually didn’t get that far due to low water levels). So we were there kind of accidentally. And for more days then we probably would have
preferred. But for cost reasons it made
sense to fly out via Warsaw on a particular day so…some random observations
follow.
Bit, tiny bit, like India. Panhandlers often have physical
infirmities on display.
Adorno quotes all over and in a toney decorator's digs in a
VERY toney neighbourhood where every doorway has someone sleeping rough.
Beer and sauer kraut on a daily basis for an extended
period can have an effect on one’s relationship. 😊
In a restaurant I struggled with the urge and won (any non
Fawlty Towers fans may want to google up a YouTube episode of the show using
this phrase) and so didn’t tell anyone “not to mention the war” but when asking
for the bill I think I may have instead asked if I could please have the state
ladder.
Next best thing to Ferragamo's flagship store in Florence
is apparently the Jimmy Choo shop in Munich.
The sales guy was a hoot. The
stereotypical man at the top of the women’s shoes heap.
Lots of Turkish and Afghan restaurants. Very diverse city.
The market was a LOT of fun. Don’t miss it if you find yourself there.
The glockenspiel is bigger than Prague’s. Fun for a few seconds. Then the crowd that you’re inevitably a part
of gets annoying.
